Spring Weekend

We had an exceptionally lovely weekend. The weather was more summer-like than spring like – well into the 80s. We did a bit of morning yard work, taking care of some things we’d been trying to find time for, then had lunch at In-n-Out Saturday out on the patio with loads of others all enjoying the sun. Everyone just seems happier and more lively. We did a little shopping at Trader Joes – unintentionally continuing a Southern California trend, then picked up some more bird seed for the increasing numbers and varieties of birds showing up in our backyard.

Sunday we did a bit more around the house. The recent heavy, wet, spring snow followed by high temperatures and sunshine are greening up the world again. It’s such a welcome site. Every day there is a bit more – more leaves here and there, more green grass, more flowers. I was especially pleased to see a new fritillary on the opposite side of the yard. I have no idea how it got there.

Once again we went out for lunch – this time a late lunch at GB where we sat out on the patio under trees heavy with blossom.

In the evening, we went to the movie to see ‘Project Hail Mary’. It’s only the second time we’ve been to a movie in the nearly three years. We’d both read the book, and were quite looking forward to the movie – and we were definitely not disappointed.
